Knowing The Signs That Indicate The Development Of Gum Infection

The common signs of gum disease or gum infection that your dentist may look for are bleeding gums during brushing teeth or flossing, red, swollen and sensitive gums, persistent bad breath, and loose teeth or teeth that appear to have shifted. Gum infection may be caused by numerous factors, each of which can be corrected and controlled and this include improper oral hygiene which promote plaque build-up. Bacteria may set in and cause gingivitis gum disease if plaque is not removed through daily dental hygiene practices and professional dental cleanings, resulting to a more severe gum disease called periodontitis which is a major cause of tooth loss.
